Best Images and Adjusted Images
Screenshots: Step by Step
This was the original image I chose to edit before it got
adjusted. I started adjusting the image by changing the levels; first off I use
the darker colour dropper and clicked on the hair which darkened all the really
dark features, it also gave the background a bit more red colour to it.
Then, I selected curves and changed the amount of each colour
allowed within the image; I decided to allow more red and blue in the image
than I did green.
After that, I zoomed into the models eye so that I was able
to adjust the colour of it.
Then, I used the ‘Elliptical Marquee
Tool’ which allowed me to draw a circle around the eye, however it also allowed
part of the eyelid to get into the selection, so I had to right click and
select ‘Layer via copy’ which it then created another layer which cut out the
bit of the eye I selected and pasted it onto this layer, so then I could reuse
the ‘Elliptical Marquee Tool’ to just select around the bit I wanted. After
this, I then clicked back on to the ‘Background’ image so that I could edit the
eye.
Then, I selected ‘image’ à ‘Adjustments’ à ‘Levels’ which allowed you to
control how much dark, light and mid tones were allowed in the picture.
After that was done, I selected the ‘curves’ tool which
allowed me to choose the mid tones colour dropper, which I then clicked on the
models hair with after I selected the hair it darkened the dark features,
lightened the face and made the background a deeper red.
These steps were used for all of the edited
images for shoot 3.
Review
I think this shoot turned out good, I like the background and the make up; they contrast each other nicely. However, the make up didn't turn out as planned. This was because I had used Face Paints instead of actual make up. So for my next shoot, I will take this into consideration and use actual make up that sits on the face a lot more thickly. But, on the plus side I think the edits turned out quite well, but I need to change the colour of the back drop as I don't think this colour suits the model.
